About Us
Shannon Fabrics was established by Ebrahim Pairavi, a Persian Immigrant, who grew up around his father’s fabric business back home. At the age of sixteen Ebrahim learned that his father was unable to continue working due to an illness. Being the oldest of eight children and with the financial future of his family in jeopardy, he had to assume the responsibilities of the family business.
In 1988 Ebrahim immigrated to the United States with his wife Ziba and his two sons Edwin (14) and Arvin (12). Soon after, his daughter Amy Shannon was born. They lived in Sacramento for one year and then moved to Los Angeles where he continued to engage in several different ventures in the fabric industry, which ultimately lead to the inception of Shannon Fabrics in 1995. The company is named after his daughter’s middle name who he absolutely adores. With his limited English skills and his unfamiliarity to the American culture he managed to provide a comfortable life style for his family.
In 1999 soon after the stock market crash, his financial future was once again in jeopardy. With much uncertainty he sought the help of his son Arvin, who was busy working and attending college. After much hesitation Arvin joined his father's business in July 2000. Together they shifted the direction of the company from retail to wholesale and within a year they incorporated the business.
Today Shannon Fabrics is the leader in the world of plush fabrics by making the world a softer place and has earned the trust of its customers. Currently they import and distribute many types of fabrics which include; fabulous faux furs, snuggly cuddle fabrics and super soft silky satins. Catering to many industries; including fabric stores, quilt shops, apparel manufactures, costume manufacturers, pet accessory manufacturers and top designers. With their signature "Cuddle" line, Shannon Fabrics is becoming a household name.
Ebrahim and Arvin continue to passionately run the business and maintain a family environment for their employees, who have played a key role in the company's success. They have made it a practice to run an honest and ethical business with a win-win mentality. They hope to one day pass the torch to the next generation of Pairavi’s and to continue making the world a softer place. Please contact us for more details.
